Young cyclist threatened and has bike stolen in Mansfield Woodhouse

Four teenagers have been arrested after a 14-year-old schoolboy had his bike stolen as he cycled home in Mansfield Woodhouse.

The youngster was knocked off his bike by a group of youths who threatened him with violence on Brookside Avenue on November 2, at about 3.50pm.

Police quickly traced four suspects in nearby Charles Street and recovered the bike.

Three boys aged 14, 15 and 17, and an 18-year-old man, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This must have been a very frightening experience for the victim who was targeted as he made his way home from school.

“We will now be carrying out further inquiries and studying CCTV of the incident.

“We will always do our utmost to catch offenders and reunite people with their property, so it is pleasing to have reunited the victim with his bike.”
